My Approach:

My approach to parenting is pragmatic and grounded in lived experience. I grew up with a sister with significant needs, worked in home care for adults with disabilities, have been a school teacher, a Learning Support Coordinator (SENCO), a foster Mum, a community youth director and most importantly, a Mum of 3. Our home in Auckland always has kids in it - school age, teenagers and young adults - I love their company. I think young people are magnificent and at 53, I  am still curious in their company.

At the heart of my parenting approach is always the long-term lens:

What kind of adult are we creating here?

Parenting isn’t just about getting through today — it’s about building independence, confidence, and resilience over time. When children are supported to do things for themselves, they feel capable— it’s where confidence, self-esteem, and mental wellbeing grow. This doesn’t mean children don’t need love and nurturing — they absolutely do.

Kids need to be SEEN.

They need meaningful engagement, connection, and adults who are present. This is powerful for brain development, bonding, and emotional security. Oh and fun - isn't a child's laugh like the absolute best sound?!

So why parenting coaching?

Well the biggest pattern I see is anxious children growing into anxious adults — cautious, fearful of new experiences, quick to give up. That’s why I am unapologetically focused on building resilience  - a no BS approach that is clear & uncomplicated. We are in an information overload era - so I’m all about simplicity.

First step is getting clear on where we are going……The rest? Well come along for the ride with me…..

….’cause one of the most important relationships we will ever have, is with our kids …..and it’s lifelong.

  • Hands-on, practical sessions for parents and caregivers. Walk away with strategies to raise confident, resilient kids. 


  • One-on-one guidance to help you parent with clarity, calm, and confidence. Tailored to your family’s needs.

    $125 per hour


  • With 25+ years in education and strengths in learning support and literacy, I can provide tailored Interactive sessions for teachers and teacher aides. This includes practical tools to support diverse learners.

  • With extensive experience as a SENCO (Special Education Needs Coordinator) I can help facilitate support between your family, school and outside agencies. This can be very helpful when there are goals to achieve at home and/or when this journey starts, as it can be an unclear path at times.

    This invaluable assessment is a great tool for yourself or your young adult (16+) who is unsure about what’s next in terms of career or life paths.

    Through a personality profiling with me, I can help you to discover your own natural personality and behaviour style so you can better understand yourself, and make positive progression in your life.

    Reports provide comprehensive information about personal preferences which help individuals to understand and accept their uniquenesses. This includes a 60 minute debrief post profile.
